Dredging pump

The primary dredging equipment of a dredger is the mud pump; therefore, the mud pump plays an extremely critical role in mud-water dredging operations. Ensuring that the mud pump operates at its optimal performance point can significantly reduce dredging costs and enhance the efficiency of the dredger's production.

  • Product Description
  • ● Our company offers a wide variety of mud pumps with diameters below 250mm, available in both single- and double-pump-casing designs. These pumps boast strong pressure resistance, enabling efficient long-distance material transport, while their simple structure ensures easy maintenance and repair.

    ● Our company’s 200–500 (mm) diameter dredge pumps feature a single-pump casing, single-stage, single-suction, cantilevered horizontal design—available either with an integrated bracket or as a pump-and-casing一体型式. Currently, all models are equipped with submersible pumps; when operating in series at Level 2 or higher, the in-hull pump unit is configured as a dual-pump system.

    ● For bore diameters ranging from 600 to 1200 mm, the in-cabin pumps are available in two designs: a dual-pump casing type and a single-casing pump. Both feature a single-stage, single-suction, cantilevered horizontal configuration and come equipped with an integrated support bracket. Lubrication is achieved through forced dilute oil lubrication. The submersible pumps utilize a single-pump casing design to reduce overall weight, making them easier to lift, lower, and move. They adopt a front-disassembly mechanism, paired with specialized tools for quick and convenient assembly/disassembly, ensuring easy maintenance and repair.

    Main Projects

Project One: CRCC Winch 01 Upgrade

Before the renovation: Internal flow was unreasonable, leading to severe localized wear; stress conditions were unsatisfactory, resulting in pump shaft fractures and cracks in the pump body and impeller—causing frequent maintenance issues that significantly hindered the completion of production tasks and negatively impacted economic efficiency.

Renovation Plan: Utilize professional hydraulic software to re-simulate the system, analyze the concentration distribution during operation, and optimize the structural design to ensure efficient removal of sediment. Additionally, adjust the overall pump operation based on the actual site conditions.

After the renovation: All flow-through components showed even wear, significantly extending the maintenance interval, while production output noticeably increased—achieving the desired results and earning high praise from users.

Project Two: Design and Retrofit of the 650 Pump in Bangladesh

Before the upgrade: The original pump (121-26-60) had an improperly designed cavitation margin, resulting in severe impeller wear.

Rehabilitation Plan: Twist the blade inlet, increase the angle between the blade and the front cover plate, and enhance both cavitation resistance and wear resistance in this area.

After the upgrade: Prevent cavitation from occurring, and enhance the pump's efficiency and service life.

Project Three: Improved Design of the BP6560 Pump

Before the upgrade: Internal flow generates localized vortices, leading to severe local wear; the original pump’s wetted components were made of cast steel, resulting in poor wear resistance.

Renovation plan: A hydraulic analysis was conducted again, along with wear analysis tailored to the pump's operating conditions.

After the renovation: Internal flow is made more rational and efficient; the use of high-chromium alloy cast iron significantly extends the service life.

Project Four: Optimization and Retrofit of American-Brand Mud Pumps

Before the upgrade: The internal flow pattern in the overcurrent section was suboptimal, the material lacked wear resistance, and the service life was short.

Renovation plan: Re-simulate the impeller blade curve to match the local operating conditions for this pump model, and replace the impeller with a high-chromium alloy material, enhancing its wear resistance and extending its service life.
